First Peacock Bass Fishing
Peacock Bass are the most hard fight freshwater species that roam the waters here in Florida. Naples is a perfect place to enjoy your First Peacock Bass Fishing Trip. The Golden Gate Canal System holds excellent waters for these exotic bass to be caught.
I had the pleasure of fishing with Kathleen and John traveling from New York. They were coming down on vacation and wanted to add some Florida Fishing in the mix. It was going to be their first peacock bass fishing trip ever.
We went out on a quick 4 hour trip before the weather got nasty on us here in Southwest Florida. Water temperatures were holding at 76 degrees which is nice conditions for bass fishing. Live bait was the most effective method on this fishing trip with domestic shiners.
Kathleen and John caught several quality bass on this trip. They caught their first peacock bass along with largemouth. They also landed a bonus fish with a snook in the boat. The biggest peacock bass weighed 4 pounds.
We focused in on some structure that I knew they would be on. It was a great time on the water and I am looking forward to fishing with them again in the future.
