Bonding Peacock Bass Fishing
Days on the water like this are the ones we remember for a lifetime. Bonding Peacock Bass Fishing is a great method in catching quality fish here in Naples. Don’t miss out on this action next time traveling to Florida.
I had the pleasure of fishing with Ron Powers and his daughter Catlin. They were traveling from up North to catch these Florida Bass. Naples Golden Gate Canal System holds excellent water for Peacock Bass Fishing.
We had a great day of fishing focusing on the ledges in the canals. These ledges are 7 to 8 feet deep and hold the bass. Wild caught domestic shiners were the most effective method in catching them. Pitch them along the ledge and hold on for a fight of a life!
Ron and Catlin caught over 40 bass including peacock and largemouth. The biggest fish weighed in the range of 3.5 to 4 pounds. We had multiple big fish on that got caught up in the trees.
Water temperature was at 76 which were perfect for catching the peacock bass. The action will continue to be great through the winter months and will get really strong as it is consistently warm.
I am looking forward to fishing with them next time as they love to catch largemouth bass on Lake Okeechobee as well!
